Almost Didn't

I almost didn't do my quilty hour today. I just wasn't feeling a "kick" to do it. But after reading several blogs with new postings, I felt myself getting interested and figured might as well! :)

So the quilt is all pinned and ready for free-motioning. I've already figured out what design I'm gonna use - small meandering, wiggles and hearts. It should look pretty cute. :) You can read a little bit more about making the quilt here.

My husband wanted to get his ice cream while I was pinning and he treats quilts like if they're a map, and the pins are landmines! He walks very carefully around them. I just smile and tell him it's ok to step on it, I don't leave the pins open. He politely declines. :)

Now my problem is that I can't decide what color thread to use! I will be using only one color, all over the quilt. And it'll be the same thread in the bobbin too. So I took two photos and would appreciate your input.

I'm already pretty sure that I'm not going to use the pink thread on the right, it doesn't match correctly.

The plan is small meandering in the blue/green fabric, outlining the geese' "foots" with wiggles and a heart in the square. My mind just keeps thinking "blue would be pretty nice... no wait, green might be better. But isn't the pink perfect? Wait.........!" So you tell me. ;)

Today we were gonna BBQ some steak, but it kept raining. :P Back up plan was homemade pizza. I'm still fooling around with crusts, just can't seem to find one that we both love. But it was still perfectly edible and the leftovers always get eaten. :)

I like the blue.

The best pizza crust is cooked on a piece of Pensylvania Blue stone that has been pre heated to 500 degrees and just before putting the pizza on the stone sprinkle on some cornmeal to prevent sticking.

You have so many great thread colors - I would go with the light pink though just because the pink fabric already has a design on it that looks alot like a quilting pattern... but really - all of them are great colors!

And I agree with Pam - thin crust cooked on a hot stone with cornmeal is yummy!

Cheers!

Blue. And come over to my blog, I'll post my favourite pizza crust recipe. You need a stone, but other than that, everything else is in most kitchens.

I'm a crust fiend - if the crust isn't good, I don't care what's on it, I don't like the pizza. But when it's good? Ooh, baby! tomatoes, olives, green peppers and mushrooms, with pepperoni on the top so the edges get turned up and crispy. MMmmmmmm!

I like any of the first 3, but I think I would lean towards the green. I kept looking at the full quilt and it has a lot of green. Buttttt.... the blue might blend in better with the pink areas...

Ok so I'm no help!

I can't tell by your picture - I need to see the thread pulled off the spool. Several of the longarm teachers whose classes I've attended say to pull several lengths of thread off the spool and drape them over the quilt. Then stand back a little to see which one you like best. When you just go by the color of the thread on the spool you can't tell, because the color on the spool looks much more intense than the way it will look when it is used for quilting. That's my recommendation - probably not much help.

Love the quilt top. If it were mine, I'd quilt it with the green as first choice, pink as second choice. I'm sure it will be wonderful whatever you decide :)

lightest pink. (You can buy one of those pizza stones in quite a few grocery stores... I know Safeway has them. I use them for all of my breads.)

I like the blue. Blends with all your other colors the best IMO.
Pizza stones are the greatest. I cook pizzas, bread, biscuits, etc. on them.

I would definitely go with the blue! I think it would help give the offset in the colors that the quilt needs.

I'm voting for the blue too. I love your quilt and good for you to get another hour in!

Love this quilt. I remember when you first posted this. Looks great finished.

I would go with the pink. I think the blue and green would stand out too much and take away from quilt itself. But I am sure anything you choose will be great.

My daughter has no problems stepping on the quilt on the floor. She has seen me do it too. She always likes to add an extra umph and kick some of it in a weird position. I'm thinking that maybe I should be leaving some safety pins accidentally open.
