I'm finally putting my other Christmas blocks to use. This time I'm sashing it and using blue cornerstones. Hence the name "Christmas Blues". :)
I'll probably even quilt it with blue thread. I still have some leftover bobbins filled from quilting my aunt's quilt
Do you ever have days where you don't turn on your machine in a while? I haven't turned mine on in over a good week. I still do quilty stuff - like ironing, cutting, washing fabric and dreaming. ;) But haven't touched my machine. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I have plenty of nice thread and needles on hand. I cleaned it out recently. It's not the machine. It's me.
Oh well, I'm going to HAVE to turn it on soon, cuz Wednesday is my guild meeting and I have my blotto block due. On the bright side, it's also the annual "Garage Sale" - quilters can bring their pieces of fabric and other quilty stuff and sell it. Whoever owned it gets to keep the profit. I don't think I'll try to sell anything, but probably will be buying! :P Hey, my birthday is coming up in two weeks, perfect excuse. ;)

Oh how fun that will be! Yup, it has been forever since I had turned my machine on too! Must be the time of year. But I did some power sewing yesterday and almost finished a new purse for me - Hopefully I'll get it far enough for a pic tonight!
Ohh, neat idea for a guild activity! I'll mention that at our next board meeting as a good suggestion. We're always looking for fundraisers (we have a guild lending library we try to add to every year) so I might suggest that for every item sold, they have to donate 10% to the guild book-buying fund. :)
Okay, what birthday is this for you? Are you turning the big 3-0?
Love the colors. And the title.
There are weeks I don't touch my machine. And then there are days like this AM when I have to darn a pair of jeans for the middle-schooler. So I leave the machine up, in hopes it will inspire me.
I think it's just that time of year, Leah.;)
The garage sale sounds like a great way to get some quilty stuff cheap! Our local guild had one - and I had it on the calendar, and I even remembered, all the way up to the time when it was time to go there. I remembered after it was over. I'll have to try again next year!
