Christmas is here!!

Christmas came today. :D My in-laws told all their married children that they could do a "couples gift" for Christmas, up to $300. Well, this baby is $268. After taxes, we're just below $300. :)

I'm pretty happy about getting a deep chest freezer. I've been wanting one for some time, so I can stretch out my Costco trips more, and stock up on good deals from the store. And theoretically, in the long run we'll save more money.

I think tomorrow I'll get a couple gallons of milk that's on sale for $1.99/gallon. Yes, milk can freeze just fine, shake it well after thawing. :)

I have never thought to freeze milk. For a $1.99 a gallon, you had better buy more than a couple! On Friday, I paid $3.39 a gallon. And I had to buy five! That will last us one week. If, we are lucky.

Leah. You'll LOVE having a deep freeze. I don't know what we would do without ours!

Oh that's a great idea - why didn't I think of freezing milk! Great idea. Really nice Christmas gift too! :) What a lucky bunch you are! :)

Don't forget to pour off about a cup from each gallon since liquids expand when they freeze...

You will save money and TIME! I love the fact that if I don't have time or want to go to the store, I can go dig something out of the freezer. There are just two of us here too, so when I cook, I freeze what is left over and then I have what I call "speed meals" that are all ready to go. I love having chili all ready for the weekends.

Congrats on the present!!! I just know it will get lots of good use in your household and will help with your food budget being able to stock up on things that freeze - while they are on sale!!!

Cheers!
