Splurged a bit on me

I splurged and got the most expensive iron WalMart had to offer. Wiped me out by $54. ;) It looks very similar to the kind my dad got last summer. I really liked how hot it would get, the constant steam and the nice heft to it. Frankly, I don't expect it to last very long at all. :)

And with such a nice iron... why not iron a bunch of fabric to see how it works? Why not start a new quilt project too?! It's Ann's NYE 2008 Mystery and helped me bust out 5 yards of fabric from my stash. It also happens to have the colors of my wedding. Sunflower themed, with dark green, light green and yellow.

Maybe I should try growing some sunflowers this year. :)

Oh I like the sunflowers. Now that is definitely a different theme for a wedding, you'll have to share some photos!!!

The iron looks mighty nice. I'm definitely jealous! :) You should start keeping track of the date you purchase these things - just for fun - to see how long on average an iron lasts you!

I sure hope the iron lasts longer than a month! Love the colors of your new project.

@PPQ, I sorta keep track - by the date on the receipt. ;) Plus, my blog helps me get a feel for what month I purchased the irons.

My previous iron was bought on November 1st, 2008. Almost exactly 2.5 months later it poops out.

I consider anything under 90 days old fair game for a replacement or return. An iron should last for YEARS, not months or week. :)

any quilt that has green in it has to be a winner!
