Change of pace

I decided I am going to finish the Star Struck quilt. I had grand plans to make it 12x12 blocks, but I settled for 6x9. Given the fact that I haven't touched it in almost a year, it was time to do something. Plus, it was a nice break from the hearts and all those itty bitty pieces! :)

With borders, it measure 56x80. Good lap sized quilt. Maybe it's closer to twin size for the average person, but given the fact that I'm 5'10" and in the SHORTER half of the family (my side), I'm used to going the extra length. :)

Tomorrow is the Sew-In! I have no idea what I'm going to bring (handwork), but there's going to be a Pampered Chef party, so it'll be interesting to see if I find anything worthy for my tiny kitchen. :)

Very nice. I like the way the black sets off the colors and your border picks up all the colors of the blocks.

I've downsized a few projects myself lately. Smaller and DONE is better than sitting on a shelf in pieces parts for years.

I know you showed us that boarder before but I have to say again that it is PERFECT!!! Great job and I think that a finished lap quilt is much better anyday than a UFO. :c)

oh, I can think of a few handy must-have-gadgets from PC if you need some ideas :) Your Sew-In / PC party will be a lot of fun tomorrow night! ~Bonnie

A long lap quilt is always a great idea for tall people! We are tall in my family and I always put on extra length. When Mom built a house she put in extra high kitchen counters with a lower counter for kneading bread. Anyway, your quilt is wonderful! Love how the border fabric ties in with all your great quilting fabrics too.

Cheers!

This black/sherbet colors is stunning! Why ever did you not finish it? Not finishing is such a mystery. But this is just lovely - thanks for the post.
